Dear Blog World,
I am going to attempt to invest myself in another health related "challenge".
I have signed myself up for quite a few now since I started this bloggie health crusade but realistically, I think I have only been able to succeed in ONE of them (that being my 15-day Bikram challenge). This is okay because I want to keep trying anyway and I still want to dream big.
This challenge is a PAID program, which means people have to pay real money to participate. I am not about to put up the moolah to do that, so I like to think of myself as more of a "unofficial" participant, on the fringes but still very excited and supportive of the program community. I might not have the cash but I definitely want to use the challenge as personal example.
I got this particular idea from my favorite and most inspiring fitness blog: a dirty martini kind of girl. She is always doing something exciting and unique in the name of health/diet/exercise. I can't help but want to follow in her footsteps every time and I feel no shame in being a total copycat. I only hope to do as well as she does!
THE DO LIFE CHALLENGE
A 12-week adventure to better health!
*Week One*
January 1-7
5 Goals for January:
(1) Exercise 4 to 5 out of the 7 days per week for the month -- 120 minutes min.
(2) Cook at least 3 healthful meals/snacks or desserts per week.
(3) Review at least ONE GRE/Grad School item per week.
(4) Juice 6 out of 7 days.
(5) Apply to at least ONE job opportunity per week.
Push-ups:
I must choose a day (one per week) to do as many push-ups as I can and record my progress each week. This should be fun... my guess this week is maybe 5. I will get back to this one soon.
My favorite EXCUSE for not getting my business done:
I think time and stress are the biggest reasons I cannot get my big cheeks moving or my diet under control. But yes, they are only excuses and I know I can do better for myself IF I plan ahead and quit the crap.
And finally, a couple of things I did right today:
(1) I let myself rest when I needed it, even though I felt this unrelenting, but usual "pressure" to get moving this morning.
(2) I made myself a healthy breakfast juice with beets, apples, celery and carrots.
WISH ME LUCK! This is just the beginning.
