Friday: Challenge Update


THE DO LIFE CHALLENGE

*An Update on Week One*

January 1-7

(1) Exercise 4 to 5 days per week.

Got some time in today and yesterday.  More to come tomorrow too.  My time this week won't be quite enough to make the plan but it is a great start.

(2) Cook at least 3 healthful meals.

Honestly this did NOT happen for me this week.  I ate a ton of healthful things, greens galore and many yummy juices.  I just did not find the oomph to create a more elaborate meal or snack yet.  I will now make it priority for week two.

(3) Review at least one GRE/Grad School book.

I read this handy book from Peter Diffley in about an hour.  It was mostly information for PhD students, so I read what was most relevant to me:












Then, I started this book last night at the recommendation of my lil' sis K:












I haven't read for FUN in a long, long time.  It is exciting!

(4) Juice 6 out of 7 days.

Oh yes! I have been making lots of juices every day.

(5) Apply to at least one job opportunity per week.

I applied to TWO jobs this week.

Push-ups:

Last night I did 15 girlie push-ups.  My face was beet red and I was sweating a little when it was over... but I did it.

Excuses:

I have definitely been pushing my excuses down and away these last few days, as much as possible.  Fatigue and stress are always present in some way, so it is up to ME to figure out how to handle it.

Some things I did right this week include:

(1) I have been working on this challenge like crazy, planning things out in my head, trying my best to be as productive as possible.  It feels really good to have a cool, new routine.

(2) I am working hard to budget my money.  It is not easy because I make so little.  I think I am making progress with what I have though and that feels good too.

(3) As always, I have been trying to plan activities for Violet.  We are no longer in yoga class because I cannot afford it right now, so I have been investigating less expensive ways for us to learn and have fun.
