Watch the ABC News story here: Source http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/facebook-blues-12796540 “People are curating their lives on social media.” People are not only curating, they are CREATING their lives on social media. The truth is people want to appear like they have a great life - even if just to fool themselves. And the best way to do it is to try and fool everybody else. Facebook is the veil, the disguise, the perfect tool. The ugly truth is, what you don’t see on Facebook are the miserable marriages, the knock-down drag-out fights, the counseling and psychotherapy and reality behind those vacation pictures of the perfect couple on the beach. And the affairs. Don’t even get me started on the affairs. (And P.S. it’s usually those perfect couples on the beach having an affair.) Of course, no one posts THAT stuff. Maybe there needs to be an anonymous version of Facebook, where people can turn to post the REAL shit that’s going on in their lives…then other people can tune in and maybe actually feel better, less alone and more compassionate and understanding. Just a thought.

This is why I have to take a facebook break periodically.  It turns me into a weird internet stalker lady when I am on it too much.  And I too compare myself to all my "friends".  Ughhhh I almost hate facebook.
