Thursday: Kindergarten Graduation!

Last night was Violet's graduation from Kindergarten!!

I can hardly believe that my little peapod (her nickname since birth) is a graduate!  It blows my mind.

Violet received many gifts including these flowers from her Nana, Daddy and Grammy Sandi.  She was also gifted a handmade corsage (from ME!), CASH MONEY from Grampy and Grammy and some sweet new clothes also from Grammy Sandi.

All of Violet's grandparents joined us for the ceremony!  Grampy took us out for dinner AND ice cream after the graduation.  We feel very lucky and happy to have all these wonderful people in our lives to share these good times with us.  Thank you to all.

Thursday: Bug Hunting

We did some bug hunting this week in our own backyard (ah yes, my own little stretch of green).  We found some spiders -- yuck! -- and an ant or two.

We also found a very small, slimy, black slug.  She named him Sluggie and I am happy to report that Sluggie was returned to the safety of his grassy home despite Violet's pleads to bring him to live inside with us.

Thursday

The other day we visited the park to freshen-up our home bouquet of wild flowers.

I intended only to stay there briefly since it was lightly raining and kind of chilly.

When we arrived Violet noticed right away that the parks water sprinklers were on -- she proceeded to run through them before I could stop her!

What a wild little monkey I have!!  I could have stopped her but it was too fun and too cute to end:

My Violet is such a well behaved child that I am constantly impressed and proud of how and who she is.  I wanted to share (and document for later proof!) some of these things that make me so happy:

1. Violet is not a picky eater, not really.  She will readily eat all fruit and most veggies.  She does eat light but that is ok!  She doesn't beg for sweets or junk, never sneaks food and tries new things all of the time.

2. She loves to brush her teeth.  She will remind me day + night when she still needs to brush-up!

3. She handles transitions very well.  She seldom gives me a hard time when leaving somewhere fun.

4. She rarely gives me any attitude, she generally treats me with the respect I deserve and she isn't rude or nasty.

5. And she very seldom gives me a hard time at bedtime!

I know from experience with friends and family that these situations I mentioned above can be a real problem for children and their parents.  I feel really good and quite frankly, lucky.  Violet is a very good little girl and such a sweetheart. 

Sunday: Park Days

Violet and Grampy found a penny with his metal detector today!

Today I bought Violet some "ballerina shoes" even though she does not take classes.  She likes all the fashion of ballet without the classroom commitment.  That's my girl!  Always the fashionista!

Violet's grandparents purchased a membership to our local planetarium as Violet LOVES Space so much!

Today we visited:

There was a polar bear exhibit that she really enjoyed. 

She instantly played as a "baby polar bear".   So cute!

There was this great wall display of all the different rocks found in New Hampshire.

She put Grammy to work building a space car.

WE got to use the telescopes in the observatory!  SO COOL!

And finally at the gift shop, Violet (but mostly my Dad) was fascinated by this neat coin roll machine.
