Violet and I had a very busy first week of summer vacation together!

On Thursday, Independence Day, we attended a family get-together at my Mom's.  Fireworks, good food and great company!

It was lovely to spend time with everyone. 

Especially the babies.  SO MANY BABIES!  I was in heaven.

Before the party, being the third day in a row of temps in the 90's! -- we played at the local pool again.

Violet and I both jumped right in.

 

And yesterday because of that same heat, Violet and I went to the beach.  Again, we spent almost the entire time in the water trying to cool off!

I got her up at the crack-of-dawn for this beach day! She was so so tired.

But it was worth the early time to get good beach real estate!

Turned out to  be hotter at the beach than at home!!

It was Violet's idea to create these cool rock structures.  We built these rad towers, very feng shui!

Although being home means I have very little money to take Violet out, I am really relishing every moment with her until I go back to work.  I feel like the luckiest Mom alive right now.  Violet is such a great kid and I love spending so much time with her!
